Dear Temple Beth Shira Congregants, As you know, the past months have been extremely difficult for our congregation. We are now ready to share exciting news about Temple Beth Shira. After completing an extensive search, we are proud to announced our new spiritual leader, Rabbi Joan Cubell. Rabbi Joan's appointment is centerpiece to laying the groundwork for a bright future at Temple Beth Shira.
Planning is going on or starting soon for our 2013/14 budget, next year’s school, Friday night services, the High Holy days, Torah study, Brotherhood, sisterhood, fundraising and many other things so get involved with anything that interests you. We need everyones help! Spread the word to everyone else to get involved.
This Shabbat we continued in the Book of Bambidbar (Numbers) where we read about Moses striking of the rock. Our chapter begins in the 38th year of walking through the Desert on their way to the Promised Land. The Israelites learn about the “Red Cow”. The mitzvah of purification, called “Para Aduma” in Hebrew.

TBS Man & Woman Of The Year Celebration: Now this is what TBS is all about, we gathered together to celebrate two absolutely amazing leaders in our TBS family, Betty Besner and Steve Sanders. Both Betty and Steve have gone that extra mile time and time again, Betty as membership chairperson is the perfect person for those new to TBS to have as their first contact, she is warm, giving, enthusiastic, and so much more. Stephen Sanders from the first time I met him at one of our very first TBS services has always been there for TBS in every way imaginable. Currently he serves as TBS Brotherhood President but his efforts for TBS and our Community know no bounds. How Blessed is TBS! Mazel Tov To Both Betty and Steve!! Big Thanks To our First Lady, Karyn and Pres. Marc for hosting tonights celebration.

HERE'S A PHOTO MONTAGE (CLICK LINK ABOVE) From Last Nights (5/10/13) Temple Beth Shira COMMUNITY Shabbat Dinner/Picnic. What a wonderful event, simple, and easy, a chance for friends, new and old to spend time together and welcome in Shabbat. It wasn't fancy, but it WAS Special. We announced that Rabbi Joanie would be our new Spiritual Leader, how exciting, and how special that we made the announcement at Sunrise Park Elem where we began 9 years ago. There was a big round of applause, and Mazel Tov's. That's Community! Rabbi Joanie led us, Jake played the keyboards, we danced to Miriam's song and shook our tambourines, Betty Besner made sure it happened, Dan donated the rent cost, Joel made phone calls, I signed the lease and took photos (what else is new), we all pitched in, and most importantly over 40 people showed up for our 1st Community Shabbat of 2013, hopefully the 1st of many. And WOW, Rabbi Joan Cubell can bake, Thanks for the Challah, and Cookies! Please Share and If Interested in TBS Call 561-912-1453

THANK YOU TBS COMMUNITY...So Proud Of Our Team and Community!! So many TBS members worked hard at collecting and making donations. The night before the walk we were within 150 of our goal. At 2am on the morning of the walk my old buddy from Brooklyn Peter Z made a long distance donation that pushed our team past our $2000 goal. YAY. We had a great turnout with about 40 walkers! We are very sorry that some of our team including, Sandy G
aynor, Char, and Dan Bergman, and Karen and David Marcus ( separated in the mix of 5000 walkers) missed our team photo, their and everyones participation is so appreciated and vital to our community, and our efforts to cure breast cancer.
Below are a couple of photos, and the link to all the photos from the Walk, if you were there, you're probably in it. Thanks Again Everyone, Donors, Walkers, Supporters.
