Temple Beth Shira  L'Dor Vador Campaign
Our need to balance our budget this year is clear and undeniable. We need your support today. The help of every member is vital to ensure that Temple Beth Shira lives to grow and prosper. If our first erev Shabbat service in our new home was a sign, it tells us that TBS will succeed, but only with your immediate help.
The L'dor Vador (From Generation to Generation) Campaign: Your financial support is needed now in order for Temple Beth Shira to navigate our financial hurdles and in order for us to guarantee our future. Our goal is to raise $50,000. We have already collected $15,000 thanks to several matching funds donations. Donors will be acknowledged with a special L'dor Vador plaque on display in our new home, in addition to the acknowledgments in our Temple Beth Shira bulletin and our eNewsletters. Temple Beth Shira is our gift from our past to our future. Please help us make that vision a reality. May we go from strength to strength L'dor Vador!

Generous L'Dor Vador donations are arriving daily. Those donations will be updated this weekend, printed copies of our L'Dor Vador campaign have been mailed out for those without email.

Rick's Notes 11/03/11

Dear  Temple  Beth Shira Friends and Family,

As busy as our synagogue usually is, we've been extra busy these past weeks. Building up to and since the High Holy Days, we've seen every facet of our congregation moving on all cylinders. Following Yom Kippur we celebrated Sukkot, and Simcaht Torah with a wonderful Sukkah (Thanks Steve Sanders and Sukkah Builders), and Simchat Torah Service and Open House. Our turnout was big as it should be for an amazing service where the Torah is unrolled and with the help of all in attendance held unrolled from the opening lines of Genesis through the final word of the Torah (Yisrael or Israel).  We've had an outreach concert,  and an amazing team of over 40 walkers for our TBS team, at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk-a-Thon. Cantor Stettner has been in Israel this past week, welcome back, and she will soon be telling us all about her adventure. Our TBS school has been growing, and if you saw the final moments of Yom Kippur as all our kids were sounding the Shofar, and participating in the Havdalah service, then you must have felt pride in what we all are building together. Joan our musical director as many of you know had fallen recently, and she contacted me with a note I'll place below thanking everyone for the outpouring of love and well wishes. She is home now and recovering. Our founding Brotherhood President Irwin Moss suffered a serious stroke last week, he and Rhoda are very much appreciative of the calls, and well wishes.

Message from Rick 7/1/11

A couple of weeks ago those of us in attendance at our Erev Shabbat Services were given a real treat. It was the Confirmation Service for Erika Tepper and Martin Gelwasser. I've known these two wonderful teens since we started Temple Beth Shira and I've seen them grow into two super special young adults. To listen to them chant Torah and lead our Service was so special and filled all of us all with such pride. Congratulations to Erika and Martin and their families. Also congratulations to our TBS school, our Shul, and Cantor Stettner for their part in making this awesome occasion possible. Please help spread the word about TBS so we can continue to produce the next generation of Jewish leaders. Below are their Confirmation speeches, please take a few minutes and read them and kvell at what wonderful young adults we have.

Thanks,

Rick Alovis

Past President & Director of Communications
